The City of Rockwall, Texas, a lakeside community located on the eastern edge of the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the United States. The City of Rockwall has a current population of approximately 43,500 residents who enjoy its hometown feel, beautiful scenery and all the advantages of a major city.

Rockwall is a full-service, home rule city with a council-manager form of government. The City Council is made up of seven Council members. The Economic Development Corporation (REDC) operates as a separate entity with the Board providing direct oversight of the President. Board members are appointed by the City Council.

The ideal candidate must be a strategic thinking visionary leader who holds a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business administration, economics, or a related field. 5 years of proven work experience in a public environment related to business development and/or economic/community development is required, with 10 to 15 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in an economic or business development related field. Preference may be given to candidates possessing added skills, graduation from the Basic Economic Development Course, Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) or experience in real estate.
