The City covers approximately 11 square miles and is the county seat of Bastrop County. With a current population of approximately 8,900, Bastrop proudly preserves its historic past while embracing the challenges of modern-day growth and economic needs.
Reporting to the EDC Board of Directors, with City Council and the City Manager as needed, the Executive Director will serve in a public and professional leadership role for the promotion of economic and business development in Bastrop.
The ideal candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in the field of economic development or a related field. A master’s or advanced degree is preferred, as well as certification in the field of economic development and experience in Texas economic development. Experience in the use of market research methodologies is also preferred.
