The Oklahoma Professional Economic Development Council (OEDC) is once again inviting members to join together at the Capitol to share the concerns of our industry with Oklahoma legislators. This annual event is an important opportunity to educate legislators about vital economic development issues and showcase our profession.
The OEDC Day at the Capitol will begin with Registration at 8:45 AM in the 4th Floor Rotunda, followed by private briefings with leadership in the House and Senate lounges until noon.
In an effort to encourage communication and relationships with legislators, we have changed our lunch schedule. Beginning at noon, we will have box lunches and seating available in the 1st Floor Rotunda. We would like each of you to contact your area legislator(s) and either 1) invite them to join us in the Rotunda or 2) pre-arrange to bring a box lunch to a legislator’s office for a quick lunch and conversation about economic development at the local level. We feel a personal invitation from you as a constituent and “local leader” in your community will be the most effective guarantee of their response.
As a reminder, this is a FREE event, but registration is required to reserve a box lunch for both you and the legislator(s) you’re meeting with. If you would rather not contact a legislator, that’s OK too …simply reserve your own box lunch when you register online! Together, we’ll meet with Oklahoma Legislators and explain issues important to the economic health and future of Oklahoma.
